Building an eye look becomes much easier and more fun when you have a plan and know what colors you can use for what. With the right techniques and colors you can effortlessly create any look, from subtle and natural to bold and glamorous. Here is your complete guide!
Step 1: Start with a good base
A good base is essential for an even and long-lasting eye look. Use a light color to cover the entire eyelid, from the lash line to the brow arch. This makes blending easier and allows other colors look better.
Examples of basecolors:
- Vanilla: For a soft, neutral start.
- Barely There: Perfect for a natural look.
- Cloud 9: A fresh, light shade.
- Cheesecake or Snow: For more brightness or a cooler tone.
Tip: For example, want to create a greener or bluer look? Then use a base color in the same color as your final look. Try this out on your hand: a colored base instantly gives a different intensity to your eyeshadow!
Step 2: Build the look with multiple colors
Each eye look is built from a minimum of 4 colors:
- color 1: Apply a light color to the front of the moving eyelid, close to the inner corner of the eye. This opens your eyes and makes them look fresher.
- color 2: Use a medium color above the iris on the center of the moving eyelid. This adds color and adds definition.
- color 3: Apply a darker color in a C or V shape to the outer corner of the eye and lightly blur to the arcade arch. Use the B07 Pro Eyeshadow Brush to blend the color application.
- color 4: Use a matte medium blend color with the Angled Eyeshadow B06 Brush. Make small, cloud-like movements from back to front across the upper edge of the eyeshadow to blend the shades together smoothly and create a natural finish under the brow.
Pro Tip: You can easily navigate on the website between light, medium and dark colors and even choose the finish (matte, satin, Metallic). This makes it easy to select just the right shades and build a look that suits you!
Upgrade: Play with details and glow
- For extra sparkle: Use an Eyeshadow Topper or Glitter color on the center of the eyelid or inner corner of the eye.
- For definition: Apply a dark color apply as an eyeliner with the B09 Angled Liner Brush.
With these handy steps and tips, you will effortlessly create an eye look that perfectly matches your style. Try out different combinations and let your creativity run wild!
